| California | CDFG does not conduct supplemental feeding of wildlife and has a regulation against it. | Read regulation |

| Idaho | IDFG has procedures and guidelines for feeding. They do not support any wide-spread supplemental winter feeding programs. The deparment is authorized to feed in only 2 situations. | Read policy |
| Montana | Montana does not endorse feeding and has done so only a few times when conditions where extreme. | Read policy |
| Nevada | NDOW has no formal policy on feeding of big game. However, they do not conduct supplemental feeding nor support citizens who do so. | |
