Alaska Illegal to feed any big game animals.  Two exceptions apply for bears and moose in specified conditions. Read regulation
Alberta Alberta has a policy on feeding developed in 1977. Read policy
Arizona Winter feeding is not an issue in Arizona
California CDFG does not conduct supplemental feeding of wildlife and has a regulation against it. Read regulation
Colorado CDOW has an emergency winter feeding policy. Read policy
Idaho IDFG has procedures and guidelines for feeding. They do not support any wide-spread supplemental winter feeding programs. The deparment is authorized to feed in only 2 situations. Read policy
Montana Montana does not endorse feeding and has done so only a few times when conditions where extreme. Read policy
Nevada NDOW has no formal policy on feeding of big game. However, they do not conduct supplemental feeding nor support citizens who do so.
New Mexico NMDFG has no formal policy. However they do not subscribe nor participate in supplemental winter feeding of ungulates.

Utah UDWR has procedures and guidelines for supplemental feeding of big game. Read policy
Washington WDFW has procedures and guidelines for supplemental feeding. They do not encourage nor discourage such feeding, but do not offer support for those who feed. Read policy
Wyoming WGF Commission adopted a policy of "no new feedgrounds." They have not provided emergency feed since 1978-79. Read more
